Did you know...

A prenuptial agreement is an important legal document. A prenuptial agreement, or premarital agreement, is a contract made between prospective spouses that take effect upon marriage.

What could be more romantic than to spend several hours together looking ahead to the rich and wonderful life you will build together and discussing how you will make your dreams come true?

Asking each other serious questions about how you see finances in the marriage partnership may save you pain and money later and might even save your marriage.

LegalHelpmate.com gives you resources that allow you to find information about Prenuptial Agreement (in the othe words "Premarital Agreement"), Family Law and understand what is Prenuptial Agreement and why is a prenuptial (premarital) agreement a good idea. click to go

Dear Legal HelpMate,

For it to be valid, can you sign a prenuptial agreement in a state other than the one in which your assets are located? (We won't be going back to my homestate before we're married.)

Thanks.

Jennifer

Dear jwren,

The answer is yes, you may sign your prenuptial agreement in a state other than one where your assets are located, as long as you disclose them in the financial statement.

Best of luck,
Customer Service
