Hello,
My elderly grandmother lives in southern California. She was sold a life insurance policy, and her beneficiary is the same insurance agent who sold her the policy. I believe this is abuse. Besides informing the police department, what other recourse do I have?
If the DA's office can't/won't prosecute this agent, do you know if the Attorney General's office would?
Can the CA Department of Insurance do anything to fix this problem?
Thank you.

Dear Advocate,
Your question seems rather complicated without knowing the details. If you suspect abuse or dishonesty on the part of an insurance broker we recommend you to contact California Insurance Department that may investigate the broker’s compliance with broker fiduciary duty.
More information may be obtained from CA Insurance Department's website at http://www.insurance.ca.gov/
Please note that Legal Helpmate is not a law firm and written above is given for your information only.
Best regards, Legal Helpmate
