I was wondering what I will have to do to change to last name of my boys to thier bios father's last name. When they were born my last name was already typed in and now we have big probs with them having my last name and not his. so I need to know the steps to change that. ty

MY EX-DAUGHTER IN LAW HAS CHANGED THE NAME OF MY GRANDDAUGHTER MY SON KNEW NOTHING ABOUT THIS. IS THAT LEGAL. SHE HAS HYPHENATED HER LAST NAME TO REFLECT HER NEW MARRIED NAME.

The answer to your question depends on the state of your residence.

Generally speaking, the process for obtaining a name change for a minor begins with the filing of a Petition by a parent, managing conservator, or guardian of the minor with your County Court.
