Dear Bbraxton,
Acknowledgement by a notary public is desirable but not necessary in many states.
Some states require formalities, such as notarization or an acknowledgement (Arizona, Arkansas, California, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico and New York) and we believe that it's better to have the prenuptial agreement notarized. Our forms contain a specific section for notarization.
So, after you notarize your Prenuptial Agreement you do not have to seek an attorney's help. Keep your Prenup in a safe place. We wish you never use it in court.
